1) These shirts represent his great wealth with which he impresses Daisy, and Gatsby's extraordinary dedication to his dream.
2) "He took out a pile of shirts and began throwing them one by one before us, shirts of sheer linen and thick silk and fine flannel... shirts with stripes and scrolls and plaids in coral and apple green and lavender and faint orange with monograms of Indian blue. Suddenly with a strained sound Daisy bent her head into the shirts and began to cry stormily.
"They're such beautiful shirts,” she sobs. "It makes me sad because I've never seen such beautiful shirts before.”

I agree that his shirts did represent the wealth, but I don't think it was his dream. I think it was just a step towards his dream of reaching Daisy because if wealth was no of the option then I think Gatsby and Daisy would of united without Gatsby's wealth.
I agree with the idea that his shirts represent his wealth and possibly his dreams because he chose them all to solely impress Daisy.

Jortan Seems right the shirts were only a step toward his dream like the car, the party, etc... But I disagree with Jordan I think that without wealth Daisy still wouldn't want Gatsby she would find another excusse.

Yes i agree with the fact that Gatsby took out his shirts to impress Daisy, he did this to get one step closer to his dream with Daisy. Ray 6th
i agree with jordan because Gatsby did not really care about wealth. he knew that Daisy loved him when he wasn't wealthy when they were younger but since she was wealthy now he believed that was the only way to impress her and to make her notice him. I really like the quote you used though it fits very well!

I think that the shirts reprented his wealth, because of his variety, but not his dreams. He wanted to impress Daisy.

Gatz who was brought up in a poor family to have more than one shirt is a great deal. Daisy loved Gatz and didn't want to marry him because he was poor. "taking out a pile of shirt and throwing them before her"really represent that he is no longer poor.

I think gatsby is being a show-off! He shouldn't have to show off like that to get a girl. he can do better.

The qoutes correctly represent the meaning of the shirts in the story.

I agree, the shirts in the great gatsby correctly represent gatsby's wealth.
