Yes I do agree that the green light did represent opportunity but the light was also symbol for go. As you know the street lights have a green light and you could get the green light meaning more in depth with it. When Gatsby sees that green light across the bay he initially knows that its his signal to go.
I agree with what you say the green light represents. I like the quotes that you used to symbolize what it means.

I liked your interpretation of the green light. But I also agree with Jordan. In addition green can also symbolize Gatsby's envy of Tom, he has Daisy not Gatsby.

I concur-- The green light serves as an excellent symbol of Gatsby's hopes and dreams.

I believe you are right. It shows Gatsby's hopes and dreams. Maybe something more about what those dreams might have been, but all good.

You're right. The green light does symbolize Gatsby's end goal, as the light at the end of Daisy's dock was green, and Daisy was Gatsby's overall goal. Don't know if I agree with the envy thing though, sorry.

Green also stands for jealousy, and Gatsby was jealous over Daisy.

I agree that the color green represents hope for gatsby because the picture of green lights means to go so he has hope to go on.

I do feel that the green light does represent hope in which gatsby feels in the society.
