Daisy's Ring - Will and Jamie

The ring that Gatsby bought for daisy

Meaning of the symbol-
The ring symbolizes Gatsby’s love for Daisy, which see turns down because of Tom.
“ oh you keep it jay, I wouldn’t want Tom to find it”

When Gatsby was waiting for daisy to call by the pool he drops the ring he gives to her, when he was shot. Symbolizing he lost Daisy’s love.

The use of the ring does demonstrate Gatsb's love as shown in the text; I agree

I think personally that the green light, strategically placed at the end of Daisy's dock (just barely visible from West Egg), is sort of a guiding light for Gatsby. His goals are represented by the light.

Yes, I too agree. Rings with diamonds usually represent someones love for another person, in this case Gatsby's love for Daisy. This was an excellent use of symbolism.

Yupp I agree with everything Daisy is just a self centered rich girl. She doesn't care at all about Gatsby she just wanted to get out of her normal rich routine. Ray 6th

I believe this is true because it shows how long Gatsby was waiting for her and how commited he is to her

I agree that the ring does represent Gatsby's love for Daisy, but she remains devoted to Tom, rejecting the ring because she "wouldn't want Tom to find it." However, Gatsby dropping the ring when he was shot does give the ring a significance because it was the only thing his life was based on, his love for Daisy.

I agree. I also think that the ring represents sort of a special bond that the two characters have. They have a secret bond, that she is trying to keep from Tom.

I agree, showing how much he was willing to spend on her was how he showed his love for her. He kind of shows how he would give it all up for her. Trading wealth for love.

I agree that the ring was a symbol of Gatsby's love for Daisy, but in the end i think it was still a bribe, he could have also gotten her something more meaningful, without the price value behind to influence her.
