Yes I do agree that the green light did represent opportunity but the light was also symbol for go. As you know the street lights have a green light and you could get the green light meaning more in depth with it. When Gatsby sees that green light across the bay he initially knows that its his signal to go.

I liked your interpretation of the green light. But I also agree with Jordan. In addition green can also symbolize Gatsby's envy of Tom, he has Daisy not Gatsby.

You're right. The green light does symbolize Gatsby's end goal, as the light at the end of Daisy's dock was green, and Daisy was Gatsby's overall goal. Don't know if I agree with the envy thing though, sorry.
